Since 2008, over 4.5 million people across the U.S. have been trained in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). Now we’re setting our sights on the next milestone: 5 million trained Mental Health First Aiders.

After attending a recent webinar on the March to 5 Million initiative through Mental Health First Aid, April 22nd through October 10th, I’m even more energized about what’s ahead!

As a dual-certified instructor in both Adult and Youth MHFA over the past 3 years, I’ve had the privilege of not just teaching the curriculumβ€”but witnessing what happens when people begin to feel equipped, confident, and willing to show up for others in real, meaningful ways.

This movement isn’t just about numbers.

It’s about 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬.

It’s about 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬.

It’s about 𝐜𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐒𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝 to mental health in our communities.

Teaching MHFA continues to be one of the most fulfilling parts of my work. Every class is a reminder that small momentsβ€”learning how to listen, how to respond, how to supportβ€”can have a lasting impact far beyond the room.

I’ll be sharing my progress along the way (check out my progress bar πŸ‘€), along with insights and opportunities to get involved.

If you’ve been thinking about taking a class, this is your sign.
